Risk of Redundancy
Risk of Redundancy
What is the process for being made redundant?
If you find yourself at risk of redundancy, your employer will provide you with notice at which point the consultation period of reviewing employees starts to take place. You may then be offered a redundancy process or decide to take voluntary redundancy. Annalie King, Partner and Head of Employment at Kerseys Solicitors in Ipswich and our Employment team at Kerseys Solicitors in Colchester details the process of redundancy for an employee.
If you are considering taking voluntary redundancy or your employer is making redundancies and as an employee you are offered redundancy by way of a Settlement Agreement, you will need to seek legal independent advice to ensure your Settlement Agreement is checked by an Employment Lawyer.
Our Employment team will review your Settlement Agreement and ensure that it is fair and correct and liaise with your employer to ensure an amicable Settlement Agreement is reached taking into consideration any schemes you have entered into during your employment and ensure that you understand the longer term restrictions on you also.
You do not need to leave your home or workplace, our Employment team will support you remotely, via telephone call and/or video call supporting you through what can be a very stressful time and relieving you of further stress during the redundancy process.
