Pop My Mind’s (PMM) multimedia exhibition, which is sponsored by Kerseys Solicitors, Source One, Hughes and Sumaridge Estate Wines, featured 40 works from local and international artists.

The three day exhibition at Little Dodnash Farm in Bentley was based on work from their online platform, where one artist uploads their work and another artist can respond in whichever medium they wish – called ‘Popping.’

Anthony Wooding a published artist, said: “It was a fantastic celebratory event. It is great to support an arts platform which has great ambition as well as commercial acumen and potential.”

The work included paintings, photography, sculpture, film, installation and audio tracks.

And a range of artists took part, from graduates to the more established. International contributors included Dutch artist Sander Steins and Hong Kong based artist Joanne Chan.

Oliver Squirrell, a musician and photographer, set up the online platform for painters, film-makers, musicians, poets and creatives of all types.

The work could include a drum beat, the first lines of a story, minimalist sketch or short video sequence.

Oliver, who studied at Music Business School in London, said: “It was incredibly humbling to see so many people share in the celebrations of PMM’s first birthday. Little over a year ago the project wasn’t much more than an idea and now it is a reality.”

The exhibition also included entertainment in the form of a live art jam between visual artist Sam Spicer and musician James Todino, as well as music from critically acclaimed band Kate Jackson and the Wrong Moves, with live visual projections by Jim Horsfield.

Guests could also take part in an interactive projection by Lloyd Evans – reflecting the audience’s dance moves. Evans was inspired by a performance at DanceEast, which is an official partner of PMM.

Pat Lewis, founder and managing director of East Anglia’s premier office interiors company Source One, said: “I had a great feeling at the launch night that this was going to be a very special event highlighting the work of local and international talent. I believe that success should be celebrated and PMM is certainly a success story in the making”.

PMM is based in Ipswich, but includes an international community of artists. It’s aim is to inspire creative talent and push the boundaries of artistic practice. The project also wants to encourage collaboration across a diverse community.
