The Beauty of Suffolk
Two photographers have exhibited their work on the theme of the beauty of Suffolk.
Cherry Beesley and Pavel Kricka displayed images showcasing landmarks in the county at
Kerseys Solicitors in Ipswich in 2016.
Cherry, who as an army officer’s child grew up in several countries abroad, said Suffolk has been one of the most creatively inspirational places she has lived. The mum-of-two, who has lived in Ipswich for the last 15 years, has released 12 images from her Suffolk Collection.
Cherry, 47, who set up Simply C Photography three years ago, said: “My work covers all areas of photography, including commercial, but I also hold exhibitions of photographic artwork. The countryside in Suffolk is beautiful. It changes with the season and there is something different to see each day. I think it’s the perfect location and, though I’ve lived in many places, Suffolk has been the most inspirational in a creative sense. I hope these images will help encourage more tourism in the area.
Pavel Kricka, 61, has been taking photographs since he was 14 and has been influenced by surrealists such as Paul Klee.
His family moved from the former Czechoslovakia while under communism during the late 1940s. He was born in Birmingham and moved to Holbrook 35 years ago. He is displaying nine photos on the theme on Suffolk.
The married-father-of-two said: “I really like the lifestyle in Suffolk and it’s an intriguing county. I like taking photos of my surrounding area.”
Pavel is a keen basketball player. He often combines his two passions to photograph games
every weekend. He is a member of the Sport Journalists Association and his work often features in
the local press.
